Royco 49 General Purpose Grease is a grey-black mineral oil-based grease with a smooth, buttery consistency. It utilizes an inorganic gel thickener and micro-fine molybdenum disulfide, combined with additives to resist oxidation, water washout, and protection against corrosion in fresh and saltwater environments.
This product is designed for demanding applications characterized by severe operating conditions, including high temperatures, low to moderate speeds, heavy loads, extreme pressure, and exposure to saltwater or high-pressure steam environments. Its primary purpose is to lubricate critical components of shipboard aircraft catapult systems and automotive and ground support equipment.
Specifically, this grease is suitable for environments with typical high temperatures up to 177°C (350°F) and occasional exposure to temperatures up to 204°C (400°F). It is also well-suited for systems that involve low-speed operation, heavy loads, exposure to saltwater, and contact with high-pressure steam.
